展览简介|INTRODUCTION
 
“世界尽头协会”来自张业鸿搜索到的一个无名英文网站,和大多数人抱有的浪漫想象不同,这是一个无比枯燥的地方协会网站。然而,它在无意间提示了一个关于“世界尽头”这种奇特景观的“协会”可能形式,一种徘徊在地景学、人类学和文化想象间的生成机制。在图片、文字、物件的丛林中,张业鸿通过虚构,重塑了一个协会的形象。
 
The Worlds End Association
came from an unknown English Website searched by Zhang. Different from romantic imaginations from most people, it is a boring local association web. However, a possible way to describe an association of the world’s end was given unconsciously——the generative mechanism hovering among landscape study, Anthropology and cultural imaginations. The artist recreates an association figure with fictitious images, words and objects.

"一条贫瘠的地平线,没有起伏的辽阔领土,一个大洪水或大洪水前的形式。它来自时间的深处,但还一直持续着。不管人们走到哪里,都是自然的对立面,也是文化的对立面。
 
阿拉卡卢夫人,他们不知道自己处于世界的尽头。火地岛的印第安人就在那里,不在其他任何地方。航海家、冒险家、传教士和被流放者也一样,在他们的时代发现了另一个世界,这个世界与他们的世界没有任何共同的尺度。而我们正好相反,作为那里的旅客,带着我们发现了一切的骄傲,还有对这个已经完结的世界的遗憾。

A barren horizon, with undulating terraces, a major flood or pre-Flood form, comes from the depths of time, and still does. No matter where people go, it is the opposite of nature and culture.
 
The Alacaluf did not know they were at the end of the world. The Indians on Tierra del Fuego were right there, not anywhere else. So were the Navigators, adventurers, missionaries and exiles. They found another world that had nothing in common with their world in their own time. Yet we were, on the contrary, as travelers, we found the pride of everything, as well as the regret of a complete world.
 
Here, all the non-human things are sublime, all the human things are coveted. “The end of the world" illuminates this contrast, from which ones find from is that it is not a primitive world, but a mixture of the destructive savage forms of destruction and the destructive controls of human populations.
 
There is no other world. we are in the world, which is another world. Thus, this world will not end. There is no other ways to end.

起初,神创造天地。神的灵运行在水面上。后来,耶和华见人在地上罪恶极大,又使用洪水毁灭所有活物。方舟在海上漂浮了一百五十天,一条贫瘠的地平线,成为后来所有世界尽头的隐喻。凑巧的是,地理学研究也发现,在两亿年前,地球上只有一块原始泛大陆,被无边无际的海洋所包围。
 
In the beginning, God created heaven and earth. The Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.Later, Jehovah saw the great sin on the earth, and destroyed all the living creatures by the great flood. The Ark floats over the sea for 150 days. A barren horizon become a metaphor for all “world’s end”. Coincidentally, the study of geography also found that 200 million years ago, there was only a pangaea continent surrounded by the boundless ocean.

Terra Australis(拉丁语为南方的土地)是一个假设的大陆,广泛出现在15至18世纪的地图上。Terra Australis的存在并非基于任何调查或直接观察,而是基于北半球大陆土地应与南部土地平衡的观点。在19世纪初,英国探险家马修弗林德斯在用Australia一词代替了Terra Australis。他的理由是,在澳大利亚更南的地方已经找不到任何土地。在弗林德斯1814年关于澳大利亚的著作《Terra Australis之旅》出版后十年间,后来被命名为南极洲的大陆才开始逐渐得到探索和普及。
 
Terra Australis
(Latin for South Land) is a hypothetical continent first posited in antiquity and which appeared on maps between the 15th and 18th centuries. The existence of Terra Australis was not based on any survey or direct observation, but rather on the idea that continental land in the Northern Hemisphere should be balanced by land in the south. In the early 1800s, British explorer Matthew Flinders popularized the naming of Australia after Terra Australis, giving his rationale that there was "no probability" of finding any significant land mass anywhere more south than Australia. The continent that would come to be named Antarctica would be explored decades after Flinders' 1814 book on Australia, which he had titled A Voyage to Terra Australis, and after his naming switch had gained popularity.

张业鸿 ZhangYehong
 
1993年出生于广州,现居住于杭州。张业鸿的创作多围绕概念与媒介内部的不可能性展开虚构,采取怀疑主义式的方法对事物背后的生成系统进行考古和拆解,同时又以一种同构的方式戏仿,与之造成滑稽的反差。他近期的工作关注人在风景和空间中的不同遭遇,过往的项目实践包括:上海发廊(2016)、溪山国际旅游区(2016)、杉本博司的噩梦(2016)、皮埃尔·梅纳尔学院(2017)、铁托的肖像(2017)、雅晶艺术网(2017)等。此外,他每年通过定期的策展建立更广泛的集合和讨论,也以写作和运营网络平台,寻求展览之外的行动方式。
